CyberCleaner Pro — Web Guard (browser extension)
Last updated: 18 August 2026 · applies to version 1.2 and later
The short version. CyberCleaner Pro Web Guard does all of its
work on your own computer. It does not collect, transmit,
sell, or share any of your data. Nothing you browse and no email you read
ever leaves your device.
What the extension does
Web Guard warns you about online scams. It blocks scam pop-ups and unsafe
websites, detects fake virus warnings and tech-support scams, and checks an
email you open in Gmail or Outlook for signs of phishing. It is a companion
to your antivirus, not a replacement.
Data we collect
Effectively none. We do not collect personal information,
browsing history, email content, credentials, or analytics of any kind. There
is no account and no login. The scam checks all run on your own device.
The only information that ever leaves your device is a question you
deliberately type into the optional "Ask AI" box — and only if you choose to
use it. That question is sent so it can be answered, is not stored afterwards,
and is never sold or shared. If you don't use Ask AI, nothing leaves your
device at all.
How your information is used
- Web pages you visit are examined on your device
to detect scam and phishing patterns. The page content is never sent
anywhere and is not stored after the check.
- Emails you open in Gmail or Outlook are read
only while open, only on your screen, and only on your device, to
check that one message for phishing signs. The extension does not read your
wider inbox, does not open or fetch other messages, and never sends,
deletes, forwards, or replies to any email. It never signs in as you.
- Counts of how many scams were blocked are stored
locally on your computer (Chrome's
storage.local)
purely so the toolbar panel can show you the numbers. They are never
uploaded and you can clear them by removing the extension.
- Ask AI (only when you use it) — if you type a question
into the optional "Ask AI" box and press Ask, that question is sent to our
own secure server, which forwards it to an AI service to generate a plain
answer, and the answer is shown back to you. Only the words you choose
to type are sent — never your browsing, your emails, your identity, or
anything you did not type. Nothing is stored after the answer is returned.
If you never use the Ask AI box, nothing is ever sent.
Data we share or sell
We share nothing and sell nothing. No third parties, no
advertisers, no data brokers. Aside from the optional Ask AI feature above
(which sends only the question you type, so it can be answered), the
extension makes no network request that carries your data.
Permissions and why they exist
- Read and change data on websites you visit — required to
detect scam and phishing pages and warn you on the spot. Processing is local.
- Gmail and Outlook access — required to check an open
email for phishing. Limited to those mail sites only.
- WhatsApp Web access — to mark risky links inside chat
messages. Only link addresses already on screen are read; message text and
contacts are not.
- Downloads — to warn you when a program that can change
your computer is downloaded, especially from a page that looked like a scam.
We do not read the contents of your files.
- Right-click menu — to add the "Is this link safe?" check.
- Notifications — to alert you when a scam, phishing email,
or risky download is detected.
- Storage — to remember your settings (language, simple
view, your own block list) and the local block counts shown in the toolbar.
- Access to our own servers (cybercleanerproai.com and our
Supabase service) — used for two things only: (1) downloading an
updated list of known scam website addresses so the extension can block new
scams (a one-way download of a public list; none of your data is sent), and
(2) the optional Ask AI feature, which sends only the question you type so it
can be answered. No browsing data, email, or identity is ever sent.
Children
The extension is a general-audience security tool and is not directed at
children. It collects no data from anyone.
